Who?

I think it is Emile de Ravin. At least she is the only one who was on both the Roswell and Lost IMDB lists.

Emilie de Ravin who plays Belle/Lacey on Once Upon a Time

Beastmaster is a guilty pleasure show of mine and I thought she was okay in that. There were certainly worse actors on that show.

I don't think she's the best actress ever but I didn't think she was terrible on either Roswell or Lost. I saw her in a TV movie and thought she did a good job. As for her performance as Belle, I do agree it's not her best work but I mostly blame the writing.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I've just never been able to unsee her as Tess, which has pretty much kept me from liking her in anything since.

I thought she was okay on Lost until she went into THEY TOOK MY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABYYYYYYYYYY mode, but I couldn't stand her on OUAT. But that was the writing mostly I think.

I have never liked her. I couldn't stand her on Roswell, I just don't think she is a very good actress. So nope your not alone in your dislike.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
She's not very good. And I hate how the show interpreted her Belle.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
How did they interpret Belle?

I don't think I've ever particularly liked her characters, but not because of her acting. I don't feel experienced enough with her work to say anything about her skill one way or the other, but you're certainly allowed your opinion.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-22 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
She's always been an awful actress. The terrible writing for Belle just makes her OUAT scenes extra unbearable.

I don't think her acting is per se any worse than everyone else's on OUAT, but her accent drives me bananas, and I guess it doesn't help that I hate her character and most of her storylines.

[Picture is the actress Emilie de Ravin playing Belle from the TV show "Once Upon a Time". She is a woman with light olive skin and brown hair done in curls reaching past her shoulders. She is wearing an old-fashioned greenish-blue dress with short, kind of puffy white sleeves and some more similar fabric on the chest. She is sitting at a wooden table, holding a tall mug, tilting her head and looking emotional.]

I HATE HER. Okay, maybe not HER, but her ACTING. She is terrible on this. She was terrible on Lost. She was terrible on Roswell. She made other people look good by comparison on BEASTMASTER. But everyone loves her. It's not even a stan thing. It seems like literally EVERYONE finds her acting perfect, except me.

Bonus secret: She is the love-child of Hilary Duff and Zooey Deschanel and I can never unsee it.

I knew she was from Roswell!!... Uh I have nothing to add to the actual secret.

*slinks away*

I can't comment on her acting because her character drives me into the corner of: this is so fucking creepy. This is Stockholm Syndrome, this is an abusive relationship...this is *not* true love, this is horrifying.

I mean, Robert Carlyle does a good job acting, but I cannot stand Belle - so I have no idea how to feel about her acting because I'm seriously biased.

Can't stand her.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Good god, same here. I think she's awful. Like the worst actress (not ever and not literally but, yeah, she's terrible).

[personal profile] anonlulz 2013-08-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I've only seen her performance in OUAT, so I can't say about those other shows.

But everyone in OUAT gives me the impression that the director and producers are behind the cameras pointing guns at the actors, because the acting is borderline creepy.

I thought she was fine on Lost but just terrible in OUAT. I don't know what happened to her, though I'm going to go with the dodgy writing. She just comes across as terminally insipid and has all sorts of weird, jittery mannerisms that I'd never seen on her before.

I just think it's interesting that 4 of the main characters (Tess, Isabel, Alex, and Kyle) from Roswell have all gone on to be fairly successful in recent years and you pretty much don't hear about the others.

OMG a secret that mentions Beastmaster!

I didn't realize she was so well-loved. I first saw her on Beastmaster and liked her, then watched Roswell because of her but couldn't find it in me to enjoy her there. Saw her in Lost and liked her again, lol. I was never much of a fan, either way. Sometimes her acting definitely does distract me from the story.

For some reason I never fully made the connection between Tess and Curupira, holy shit. I didn't know she was well-loved, and I wasn't attached to her characters (except Curupira, she was flawless), I'm just happy whenever I see anyone from the favorite shows of my teenage years doing okay.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-23 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I find her acting pretty unbearable myself but, and I hate to even admit this, I can't decide if it's actually her acting or if it's just her accent that throws me off. Accents don't bother me usually though, so...
