I'd like to see them play twin elf princelings in The Hobbit. I seriously think this would work as long as they didn't have any actual lines. Just look at them!

They're just like Irish pixies, really. Extremely hyper and well meaning. Of course, being Irish, they've done everything from children shows to meeting Obama when he came to visit, so people got a bit sick of the fact that they have essentially no talent (which is true, but hardly the point of them, really, they make you smile and feel good). They've faded nicely since but people remember being embarrassed very well, so WANK, I guess.

The LotR fandom already has its fair share of twincest though, usually with (half)-Elven princelings in question that have at least the good grace not to be Jedward-shaped.

The problem OP is that Jedward would give themselves lines, no script or direction required(or listened to for that matter).

Too blond to be Elladan and Elrohir. Their mother may have been blonde, but I always imagine them taking after Elrond in colouring.

Extra materials that casual fans may not know about (stuff from HoME) dictate that Elves reach adulthood at 50. Also, most Elves get married and go through their childbearing years not long after reaching adulthood. While quite a number of the Big Name Elves take a lot longer to marry, I still get the idea they have their children soon after marrying, and wouldn't have surprise mid-life pregnancies.

Oh, and I nitpick about mid-life pregnancies, because they look like they'd be Legolas' siblings. I always had an impression that if Thranduil had more than one child, Legolas was the youngest. Also thought Thrandy's wife is either dead or in Valinor too.
