2 - whatwhatwhatwhat?!?! and in reading the comments, I am totally shocked the only people who have posted in regards to this agree with it *tear* I can understand not wanting your fandoms to be ruined and all of that, but..wow...I'd LOVE for Firefly to come back, it wasn't supposed to end in the first place. 2: Joss doesn't have a good track record with stretching series. Yeah, Season 6 had OMWF and Tabula Rasa, but everything else of S6 and S7 was craptacular.

#2. YES! YES! YES! I didn't even want the BDM to happen. Joss Whedon can make wonderful worlds, characters, and situations. But when he gets bored, he has to screw it up in an attempt to make his characters as miserable and OOC as possible. Firefly was perfect as it was.
