23. I do not agree with this comment. Using literary elements to critique fics objectively makes alot of sense- it's as unbiased as you can get. Just because YOU don't understand how to employ literary elements and can't see where a ficcer went wrong in his/her story, doesn't mean that the critic is stupid.

I think (although I might be wrong) that the OP is talking about how anti-OBHWF people in Harry Potter fandom like to talk about what a bad author J.K. Rowling is, not the fact that 99.9% of fanfiction is crap.

1) Meanwhile, I can't be bothered to catch up on Bleach as long as the focus is on the Arrancar. They bore me to tears. Would much rather have more Rukia/Orihime fanservice.

12) I have to say, it drives me freaking nuts when a pair of RPers (sometimes romantically involved in RL, sometimes nuts) have to have their characters get involved in every RP they're in. :| It's usually OOC and on top of that it just feels kind of like...two-person masturbation. And not the good kind.

23) To be fair, some works of fiction are objectively bad. Dan Brown's books. Eragon. Hot Gimmick. You know the drill. Technically, most works of fiction are objectively bad (hello, Sturgeon's Law).

But I know the sort of thing you're talking about, and it bugs the crap out of me too. Just because a series/book/whatever doesn't appeal to your tastes doesn't mean it sucks, and you don't need to sneer at people whose tastes it did appeal to.

Those people, however, are not nearly as hilarious (or as aggravating) as the people who insist that because their OTP didn't hook up, Author X can't write romance. Or even can't write at all. Or has some deep moral failing.

That, and Meowth should've kept Togepi. The way Misty shoved in the way was just a big load of fucking bullocks. DDD:

Sadly, Meowth keeping it would mean the good guys losing and they can't let it happen in a kids' anime. (Though to be fair, it'd be Meowth's pokemon more than TR's. Meowth himself said Jessie and James shouldn't get a chance to keep it because they didn't help care for the egg) Meowth or Brock would've really been the best choice.

(I admit I warmed up to Misty and Togepi after a while, but I liked it better when she bonded with Horsea in the Tentacool episode. She was so devoted to the little thing. T_T)

Hey, #7. I actually write newsman RPS and, yeah, I really sympathize. Some of them (especially the one in my icon) has inspired me in ways that no one else and made me a more informed, better person. My democracy-saving heroes.

But, yeah, I slash 'em up to all get-out. And I'll occasionally get sharp pangs of guilt over using them like that, but that said? It's the best fandom I've been in with the nicest folk and a handful of mind-blowing writers.

Point being- You aren't alone in this one.

#30 - Ted would tear Toby apart. I love Toby, I really do, but Ted has so much pent up anger at Kelso that he'd probably be like a wild animal if given the chance to actually physically harm someone without real provocation. I see Ted as a head-butter too...don't know why.

I think I have to agree with you, actually! I was thinking that maybe Toby would be better, because he tends to show more backbone than Ted, but after reading what you've written...I think you're right.
