And who are the people who think SH is a flash in the pan? While I enjoy AOS, SH is the far superior show.

Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
(Not nearly as much raging there about Agents of SHIELD, though the general consensus is 'meh'. But the only ridiculous complaints are 'not enough superheroes' and 'I can't understand Fitz!')
Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
And why don't people like Fitz? He's barely had time onscreen to do anything to tick them off!
Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
Yeah, I love his accent (and how he pronounces Lieutenant - I'm so happy to hear that pronounced properly!), but someone on the forum decided it was inappropriate to the era (they also apparently missed that Ichabod was English), and complained loudly about it.
As to Fitz...people that I've seen don't like him because they think he's bland (which is a valid complaint, even if I disagree - if only because he hasn't had much front and centre time, as you say)...but when I say they complain about not understanding him, I mean they claim they literally cannot comprehend his accent. Which is weird, because it's not really that thick, and...this is a forum where half of the posters watch Doctor Who regularly, reference Red Dwarf all the time, etc, etc, etc.
Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
I'll give 'em that Fitz is undeveloped, but it's been a measly three episodes.
Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
LOL...I'd get banned for doing that, but that was pretty much my thought, yeah.
I doubt FitzSimmons will end up terribly well developed, unless the series gets renewed and they can get some focus next season, but, honestly, I don't think that's a flaw - I like them, despite that...they're fun even if they're a little flat, and do the job they need to do for the show, which doesn't require them to be particularly well-rounded - Skye and Ward are the obvious leads, May and Coulson the significant support characters, so the four of them need development, but FitzSimmons are the amusing exposition and macguffin dispensers...I'd not be opposed to rounding them out a bit, certainly, but their development is less important than the other four, so can take a back burner to them and the plots.
Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
But I do love both shows and if I was going to nitpick anything about their interpretation of Revelations in Sleepy Hollow is that the witnesses can't call down curses on the earth and spit flames out of their mouths to destroy anyone who attacks them.

Re: Undeleted, because this wasn't a misfire, like I thought. >_>
That poster wasn't wrong, though. While there were of course regional variations in both countries, in general American English and British English accents at the time of the Revolutionary War were very similar; much more than they are today. Additionally, most 18th century Englishmen's accents were closer to modern American English than to modern British English. So Ichabod's accent on the show is (probably; note the above disclaimer re: regional variations) anachronistic.
(Obviously, if you don't care about the show's anachronisms, that's fine; it's a ridiculous horror/fantasy series, not a documentary. But any viewer who was hoping for a historically accurate backdrop for the horror/fantasy elements does have plenty of cause for complaint.)
