It's hard to pinpoint specific things, but I'll try. I'm not fond of the characters, especially the Elric brothers, which is a big change from my feelings towards their anime counterparts. There's something about the little differences in their behavior that annoys me. I'm also not engaged by the plot. The set-up was great, but it started to feel more and more like it was being made up on the fly and that the stories from the beginning didn't matter at all in the big scope of things. Of course, I haven't read it since about the time Ed saw Al's body outside the Gate, so it may be different now. Mostly it just rubs me the wrong way, but people are so elitist about the manga being superior to the anime in all conceivable ways that I get worked up about not being able to see what's so great about it and instead just hate it for letting me down.

16) I agree with you. I love Xenosaga SO MUCH. I've played a lot of old-school and new RPGs, but that's my favorite game. Who cares if the cutscenes are too long? The story is what made the game as great as it was.

I have two friends that just recently got me into this series and I LOVED it. It's now my most favourite game, actually. I played all three of them straight through and just finished the third one two weeks ago.
I love the long cutscenes, the characters, the story...everything about it was EPIC (in my opinion). I wasn't even bored with it ONCE and found the ending to each one amazing.

I play a LOT of games, but I honestly don't think I will ever play another game quite like Xenosaga. :)

28- creating fanon for characters pisses me off a little bit. I know people want to flesh out characters... but the fact that they tend to just make shit up that has no basis whatsoever in canon is just silly. :/ I mean.. I created a little bit of fanon for one of the characters I rp, but everything - I mean everything - I create for him has some basis in his canon somewhere.

(...except, of course, his dislike for peas. But not everyone likes every food, right? And he's the kind of guy who'd really get annoyed if he was eating and something squished in his mouth. ...yes. EVEN SO, peas aren't, like, a huge characterization thing alfkdjssdlkjf)

Well really, it depends on what you consider as fanon. Some people would say that unless it's VERY EXPLICITLY SAID, it's not canon, and interpretation = fanon. But I agree that making stuff up that has no basis is aggravating... if perhaps sometimes necessary.
