I can see where you're coming from. I love me some older anime, don't get me wrong, but the newer ones just look so much better to me because the color palette is brighter!

It makes me wish that the older ones would get remakes, just to update the coloring (and sometimes the art). :(

Come to my art college. It's fucking amazing. It's dedicated to art and worked you hard, but doesn't take art or itself too seriously. And the teachers are incredible.

I understand what you mean, normally i'm not a shota fan and i'd never want to ruin a happy platonic relationship, and i DEFINITELY ship Simon with Nia (and rossiu...and viral but that's beside the point)-- i really love their relationship, sexual or not, it's the love they have for each other transcends above anything in this world IMO

32. Oh gosh, all those new KH games Squeenix is putting out? Major bummer. I'm going to wind up spending all kinds of money on the games themselves as well as a PSP. I mean, it's my fandom, and I can't stand not knowing. I want to play them, but I wish they would have made it easier for us. And it's probably about time to let FF7 well enough alone. Goodness. *sigh* I can't be happy thinking about how they keep making this junk, but I can't be happy not having it, either.

I never got why everyone hated him so much! I mean, the entire Urameshi team is just awesome-sauce, ALL OF THEM. THAT INCLUDES KUWABARA. Seriously, guys, Kuwabara was the most powerful human in the show next to Genkai, and he's a complete sweetheart and argues with Yusuke like an old married couple. What's not to love?!

19. People get all weird about that too much. I mean jeez. If someone has the DEDICATION to their entertainment hobby to learn an entire LANGUAGE just to enjoy it further, i say GOOD FOR THEM. Heck, they also get some good cultural education in the process! I can understand that a lot of annoying fantwats do it, but losing respect for someone because of that just seems low. theyre not hurting anyone.

I'm new to the fandom (just finished the episodes today) and I just realized that was Gintama, as I haven't seen a lot of artwork.

Now I fear I'll be swamped with Hijikata/Gintoki stories. Really? >.< I'm a little disappointed. In terms of shonen-ai, I definitely thought there were other pairings people did. But that's just me?

7. I will say it again, and I'll probably say it the next time a SD secret comes up: they're creepy and expensive, and you can spend your money on much better things. (Like... an entire box set of anime. Or 12 video games. Or a god damned PS3.)

9. Same here. The fun of pairings is the fact that it might never happen, and what motivates you to pair them is the hope that it does. There's a small amount of pairings I ship after they get together. (like DominicxAnemone)

15. Sometimes a games/anime's art really drags me into in the first place. Like Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire, I'm ashamed to say (since now I love it for the gameplay and such but... Damn, Vanillaware makes pretty games!)

18. Agreed. If Simon and Kamina ever got more than friends/brothers-ish I'd be kind of weirded out.

19. Don't be ashamed. The truth is, not many people are taking Japanese class for different reasons. If they say they're into the culture of Japan, they usually like anime or something similar. So don't get discouraged, because its just petty to hate a person for saying something they're secretly thinking. (Just don't wear a Naruto t shirt to class and insert japanese words into your sentences, because then you are kind of a wierdo. Otherwise you're just a person who wants to learn the language)

23. Hahahaha. Back when I was into that anime (I was watching almost ten episodes per day) I spelled it Yuuri. Now I can't stop.

7 - this will probably be said the next time a SD secret comes up and you feel the need to give your opinion on it. not everyone has the save values or interests as you so its not for you to decide if collecting something has value or not.

I just don't get the Kuwabara-bashing. He's...he's like a kick-ass knight in shining armor who can make you laugh too. What's wrong with that?

We won't even talk about the hotness of Kuwabara/Kurama. That is such an undershipped pairing.

I actually really don't see them as a pairing. Going into and watching for the first time/s, I expected to be hit by it from what I had heard and read, but there just isn't - in my opinion - anything like that between them.

They are brothers/best friends and that's all there is to it. It's so clear that they love each other, but it's all platonic, I look up to you, you look up to me kind. I've never once been hit by omgz obvious sexual chemistry with those two. XD

23 - Well, either's okay. 'Yuri' because that's how it's been officially romanised, but... technically the kanji's read 'yuuri' - and 'yuri' means something completely different.

5. Integra is my hero forever. There is absolutely no question in my mind why Alucard is obsessed with her. And they are utterly perfect. I think having an Alucard would be scary for me, though. (I'm not as strong as she is.)

9. All "pairing names" suck. Stop mushing two names together and just spell them out, losers. It's not that many more characters. /total tangent

21. I'm starting to think that, as "well-intentioned" as people are when they tell you that they love what you do with a character but hate that character normally, it never, ever works. :\ I've been offended very recently by someone with well-intentioned compliments about how I make characters the complimenter hates seem likable and interesting, and all I come away with is this sick feeling. Why can't you just compliment me? Why do you have to smear something I enjoy, characters I love, in the same stroke? It doesn't make anyone feel good to know that you hate their favorite characters, but they're tolerable the way you write them.

23. Lawl, that happens a lot. The Japanese don't know how to romanize their long vowels, I'm going to be honest with you. ♥ If you romanize literally, his name is Yuuri. In your own examples, the show is also called "Kyo Kara Maoh" when it's romanized straight as "Kyou Kara Maou". But romanization is really subjective -- no one is wrong here. ^_^

Actually it's not subjective so much as there are different technical styles of romaji. Maoh is no less straightly-romanized than Maou.

7. it's good you waited!! lol my story time: i had some extra money in my bank once upon a time, and while i used it for good things-- moving out of my house, getting out on my own, deposits, etc-- i went dollfie crazy. i bought three within six months. i could afford it, and it didn't hurt me, but i ended up keeping the first one-- and the one i'd planned-- selling one, and giving the other one as a gift to my best friend.

it's worth waiting for. they're a lot of fun and they're a little bit of work once you get them, but i do enjoy the hobby. :) good luck with all that business, too. ♥ it'll be worth the wait.

1. Yeah yeah! Me too! I can think of a couple in particular that I'd absolutely love to play, but unless I ever get off my lazy butt and finish the original work they're from, I'll never get anywhere.



2. Now I want to go watch some classic Scooby Doo. I think I can pick out which cartoon that image is from, even!

9. I agree. I can't stand mushy stuff in the least, but watching [well-developed] relationships between the characters otherwise can be interesting. Not everything has to be all romance-y and shippy to be good!

15. I won't laugh! I love the colours, too! <3 The art's partially what drew me to the show, after all.

32. I thought the PSP game Dissida looked kinda cool, if only 'cause the trailer I saw featured more FFIX-related footage than VII 8D; It's just that everyone usually overlooks IX for VII, so that kind of surprised me.

38. First time I saw an ad for that game, I did a doubletake when I realized the main character was supposed to be a dude! You're right, what is up with super-feminine male leads? I guess I always found it odd since they were never terribly appealing to me.
