04. Well, if you dislike rival pairings, then obviously you'd dislike them (and Sasuke X Naruto as well). From what I know of the Gintama fandom, I don't think anyone would shank you for it -- we're just like you; we don't judge and let everyone like whatever they wanna like :D Besides, I think this pairing is more common and popular in the Japanese fandom, not the Western one.

08. Each to their own and all that, but I think it's pretty fucked up of you to say you hope they never finish it. There are those of us out there who prefer X over Tsubasa or whatever new series CLAMP is currently doing, so saying you don't want it finished just because you "don't want to waste time reading the end" is not only stupid as hell (JUST DON'T READ IT THEN) but also inconsiderate. People have different opinions and will like different things, so just because you don't care for it doesn't mean it's bad.

23. THANK YOU. Oh God, thank you so much. I've actually had people tell me that I spelled the characters' names wrong in my fanfics before, just because I went with the official names.

24. For what it's worth, I love Kuwabara to bits.

1. Hahaha that reminds me how I sometimes think "Hey! What if my novel was a great, big, crazy fandom?" And then I think about all the ship wars and crazy crack and I get amused and sometimes it pushes me to write more. But man, playing them in multifandom RPs would be great too.

36. For me, the wanderlust stopped when I grew up and left my parents' house. Dunno if that's the case for everyone, but in my experience, the wishing-I-was-somewhere-else-and-that-someone-would-come-and-take-me-away feeling stopped when I took myself away and started doing everything I had always wanted to do instead of just dreaming about doing it. I have a theory that the underlying cause of the childhood and teenage feeling of belonging somewhere else and the desire to be taken away is due to the fundamental lack of control minors have over much of their lives.

. . . in fact, if I make up a proposal by this summer, I bet I could get funding to independantly study this for credits in my major, and then I could use the money for the trip to Australia I'm planning. Double-score.

Words of encouragement, guys? Just because nobody's going to take you to Neverland or Narnia or Middle-earth doesn't mean you can't make your own in this world.

. . . also, is THAT why people like Haruhi? Because she understands the wanting-to-be-somewhere-else feeling? I've always wondered why a manipulative character who treated other people as inferiors had such a following, and for that to be the reason seems awfully ironic, from my point of view, since manipulative people who treated other people as their inferiors were a huge contributer to my teenage wanderlust. Anyone care to explain some more?

People like Haruhi because it's intelligent behind the bishoujo exterior. Same goes for the characters. Sure, Haruhi's a selfish, hateful brat, but she has a heart and a lot of insecurities. Mikuru's a weak-willed fanservice tool, but that's because it's her duty to let Haruhi walk all over her. Yuki seems like your typical emotionless girl, but she learns to develop her own personality - not to mention she turns out completely awesome.

20. I hate Zexion/Demyx so much it makes me angry to know people ship it. All Nobody shippings are pointless and stupid, unless it's some sort of manipulation thing (which it never is). It's always about ~*true, he-gave-me-a-heart-and-a-reason-for-being love~*, and usually the evidence for it being somewhat believable is based on that ONE crappy Axel line.

Not that I'm stopping anyone from shipping it. I just think it's dumb.

23) I've only seen a few episodes, but people use different romanization systems. If his name is written so that Keyboard system can put two Us and Hepburn would put one U with a macron and so on and so forth, people that use those systems will do that. Just because you use the system that doesn't distinguish long and short vowels doesn't mean everyone does.

Didn't read the comments to see if anyone responded to you yet, but Japanese romanization is kind of weird that way.

Usually, his name is written in katakana, using "yu" plus a vowel extender plus "ri." The vowel extender doubles the u, making it yu-u-ri.

Also, if you take a look at his kanji, the first uses the kanji 'have.' This is the same kanji used in the word "yuumei" (famous). The u has a long mark over it in the romanization.

His name means "advantageous" which is listed in my dictionary as "yuuri na" (also why he gets the nickname Harajuku Fuuri -- Harajuku's disadvantage).

I'm not sure why they changed it to Yuri when they dubbed it, since I actually believe that's the Russian spelling of the name. The reason I personally use "Yuuri" instead of "Yuri" is because I'm talking about the 27th Maou, not when two girls have sex.

Whoa. Sorry to go all nerdy Japanese major on you, but I get annoyed about the opposite stuff as you do. I'm not saying you're stupid, and you're free to use whatever romanization you wish, but I guess we can agree to disagree.
