Looks to me like the problem here is that you shouldn't be watching the show because it isn't for you. In my case I'm not a big fan of the female nudity and sexualization but I can ignore it and it doesn't bother me. I enjoy the male nudity, ignore the female one. Problem solved.

This is like watching a porn movie and complaining because there are sex scenes Kill la Kill is directed by Imaishi, produced by Trigger that are former Gainax employees. Of course that there will be fanservice, female nudity and sexualization. I'm glad that this time there's something for me too. I'm loving all the scenes with the shirtless teacher and I'm sure I'll enjoy the naked guy of next episode.

It's a shame, because I've loved lots of Gainax productions in the past (I still watch FLCL at least once a year) and there's so much about Kill la Kill that appeals to me (kickass ladies! superextreme battles! tons of sight gags!)

And I even like fanservice in a lot of places. I like boobs as much as the next lesbian, fgs.

But the overt sexualization of a character who does not want to be sexualized is really gross to be. If it were like Bayonetta or Panty & Stocking, where it's within the characters' personality to pose sexily and show some skin, it would be fine. But depicting scenes where a girl who doesn't want to be exposed is forced to dress in a really skimpy outfit and have everyone leer at her, and then to say that she should accept this if she wants to be powerful? That's upsetting to me, and makes me stop enjoying the show.

I disagree that it's the nature of the genre. I've seen other stuff that Trigger and Gainax have done. They could be better.

Nooooo but don't you understand, she just needed to EMBRACE her inner exhibitionist?!!

Yeah, I'm pretty grossed out by it too. :/

The show is about clothing; the nudity and the embarassment are part of the theme and the story doesn't work without them. This is pretty much what the narrative in Kill la Kill is going for: http://sushiobunny.tumblr.com/post/64589948299/just-to-make-my-own-opinion-clear-kill-la-kill

Even the title refers to the clothing idea; kiru means "being dressed".

That is indeed the problem, but it is not MY problem. Yes, media that makes light of rape is not for me. It should not be for anyone. Trying to suggest that I just leave it be and ignore it because "It's made for guys, ofcourse you don't like it" is ignorant bullshit.

>hurrr durrr you can't make rape jokes
Please kill youself.

It's illegal to say that, btw~

I wish you lego-covered floors for the rest of your days. :)

You must be pretty retarded if you honestly believe that I was encouraging suicide.

Oh thank you ever so much for providing me with this wonderful resource. I must say, never in my life have I ever encountered such complex and creative use of language.

You must be lacking in compassion if you honestly don't understand that such unnecessarily thoughtless and cruel words may be the final straw for people who struggle with depression and/or suicidal ideation. (http://www.suicideprevention.com.au/pages/?id=109&tid=4 "The final straw!:
For most people who harm themselves or die from suicide, there is usually some final event which “tips them over the edge”.") Or do you do an extensive background search on everyone you anonymously encounter online? That's why I only hope there are legos and bare feet in your future. (Not just as a figure of speech.)

>implies wishes of legostepping are as bad as wishes of death

these are some pretty gross comments
