ONTD is a cesspool no matter what fandom.

Well 95% of ONTD commentators are awful in general. Barring SJW shit, I think the Cumberbatch posts are some of the worst.

The Cumberbatch posts are my favorite, and I like the guy.

I agree. I mostly just lurk or comment on some people's posts because the majority of the people there are just... ugh. Also, they're the biggest hypocrites I've ever seen in my life. They make fun of anything and everything, but god forbid someone criticizes them in any way...

I get that. I'm one of the Moffat haters (not on ONTD), but I get how too much hate can eventually cause a person to explode with the opposite opinion. It's a thing that happens. Maybe you should just avoid ONTD for now, since it sounds like it's stopped being any fun for you and only brings anger.

Dude I hate Moffat as much as anyone, but it's ONTD comments. Even if I agree with what's being said they're still fucking terrible. I stopped reading them altogether and seriously became a happier person.

I'm an early adopter Moffat Hater and ONTD used to LOOOVE Moffat which made the posts kinda annoying for me. ONTD luckily saw the light of Moffat's shittiness during series 6.

Love this, it's the perfect description, I am so right there with you. I read ONTD exactly once, years ago, I followed some link to a GIF party. But everything I've heard about the site in the last couple of years makes me think ONTD makes Tumblr look good.

OT: The PWD fetishization/infantilization by the SJWs on Tumblr just makes me cringe SOHARD there are pictures ohgawdwhy?!? /OT

it's fine if you feel proud for hating moffat first but it's totally possible to both enjoy doctor who and hate moffat at the same time

Early adopter Moffat haters unite. I remember when he was announced as showrunner and everyone was so ecstatic, but I was... more than a bit concerned. Most of my flist was thrilled and they were wondering what I was on.

Gallifrey Base used to LOOOVE Moffat too. Around the last RTD year posters there were foaming at the mouth about how much they hated RTD and all the female fans he attracted for being so soapy! and how they couldn't wait to get back to a real producer making real scifi for real men. Lololololol.

I never looked back (apart from a look-in to enjoy all the moaning at Moffat) so I don't know how much things have totally changed now, but I think male fans are in general happier with Moffat than female fans. Speaking *very* generally.

ONTD does love to hate things. I stopped going into a few threads for my fav shows since I couldn't stand all the wank. Maybe stop going into the DW threads for a bit and get your Who news from another source?

I believe there are still active livejournal DW comms where discussion still happens as well.

I met another Doctor Who fan in real life the other day, and when she mentioned she was counting down the days to the 50th Anniversary I told her how I still really liked the series but wasn't in love with it like I used to be back in the RTD era, and how I'm excited for David and Billie to be back but couldn't help but wish there were more past actors, and how I enjoyed Season 5 a lot but Season 6 lost me but Season 7 was better, etc.

And while it was far from being a one-sided conversation, as my mouth kept moving, my brain was yelling "OMG YOU JUST MET. STOP BEING SUCH A DEBBIE DOWNER WITH ALL YOUR THOUGHTS ON YAOI AND JUST PRETEND TO SQUEE WITH HER."

Ia, OP. What makes it extra frustrating is how fucking off-base some are with their hate - there's a whole troop of them furious that "Moffat isn't including Eccleston" when the actor turned down the opportunity to reappear!

Moffat hate is so bloody old. It really is. I don't get how people pour so much hate into it. Move on. Stop watching if it's come to that - but the endless hate he gets here is just so boring and repetitve now.

I mean, I don't like Moffat anymore (and it breaks my heart, because I was so happy when he took over *sigh*), but every DW post suddenly becomes a 'We hate Moffat'-post, no matter the topic and it's tiring.

But it's ONTD, where they laugh at teenage girls, but wet their pants over One Direction, where everyone HATED Lea Michele until Cory died (and Darren Criss is the devil?), where they tell you that Eminem isn't relevant anymore (I wish, but no?) etc. etc.

I know that not everyone goes into every post and some posts can still be fun, but... I definitely don't go into every topic anymore (and I never post either).

there was a point in time where I was using ONTD a LOT-- commenting multiple times a day and checking for updates all the time-- and it just got to the point that their negativity wore me down. I decided to stop going there and voila! I'm a much happier person.
That place is a shithole no matter what the fandom, because those people don't know when to shut the fuck up with their complaining.

Yeah. I have some problems with Moffat but the ONTD posts are so over the top and nasty... just stop watching the show already instead of wallowing in how awful it all is.

The GoT posts can be annoying as well, although much less so.

I feel you on the DW posts, OP. I'm sad myself that I don't like Moffat anymore, but there is still stuff I enjoy about the show, but every single post that is somehow DW related spirals into hating on Moffat and in general every character he ever created.

Game Of Thrones posts are starting to become less fun, too. I mean, of course I get some of the stuff (female nudity, casting etc.) but it's also starting to spiral into hating on everything and declaring the whole show a complete disaster.

Darren Criss is also the devil from what I see. For some reason. He strikes me as utterly harmless. *shrug* But hey, many people are also acting like they never actually hated Lea Michele now.

I continue to be utterly confused by ONTD actually loving 1D for the most part, though. (I mean that kind of love were they can love most of them, despite them doing stuff that would land others on the 'hate forevaz' list.)

The only ONTD posts I've ever frequented were Marvel ones and they were a maelstrom of squee and drool. Huh. Maybe they were a different crowd, like me.

There are times I just want Moffat to quit because I'm tired of hearing people complain about him. Personally, I don't have too many issues with him.
