Well, shipping slash is, too, sort of. Destiel fans were told flat out that Destiel doesn't exist and that Dean is not Bisexual lol I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of tears shed after the series finale for the people who went back to watch the show for canon!Destiel.

I absolutely adore her (although I prefer the first version of her better).

I agree that it's so hard loving the female characters in Supernatural and bound to get messy in some areas of the fandom.

I liked Ruby too. I knew she'd turn out to be evil (this is SPN), but I liked her and Sam together in a twisted way. Like others said, I also liked her in fic. Dean/Cas fic had Ruby/Sam as a secondary pairing for a while which was nice.

I LOVE season 5 Ruby. She was great. Also, S5 Ruby is, IMO, much much prettier than S4 Ruby, and more Sam's type, despite the arguably less impressive acting.

I feel for you. I got out of the fandom in the fourth season and stopped watching the show in the fifth (after Ellen, Jo, Anna) because I couldn't deal with how horribly the fandom and the show treated female characters.

I thought Ruby 2.0 was great, I think I preferred Ruby 1.0 a little bit more but I always enjoyed watching them on my screen. The rabid fandom hate for them(especially Ruby2.0) was way over the top.

I don't LIKE her (I mean I dropped the show because I got so tired of the unrelenting angst, and Ruby's drawn-out screwing-over of Sam was fucking depressing) but I can really appreciate her as being an interesting character.

I have no clue about the series (other than "I heard female characters get fridged a lot") but it's funny that you say "EVEN the devil" - hardcore Lucifer stanning has been going on in all kinds of media for centuries.

I didn't like the character because I never trusted her. Well, no... there are characters I like and I don't trust; I just didn't like this one because her actor couldn't ACT. (both 1.0 and 2.0)

And before you jump down my throat and say, 'you don't like her because she's a girl.' NO. I liked Bela, Jo, Meg 1.0 and 2.0, and Ellen will always be my favorite.

That being said, I think Gen is a beautiful woman and she and Jared make a gorgeous/adorable couple.

I like the first Ruby but I never felt the second Ruby. The actress...she's bad.

Ruby, either 1.0 or 2.0 would have worked better if they'd hired better actresses for the role.

2.0 came across has having a raging case of PMS, not demonic.
