What was the best/worst candy you got trick-or-treating?

And what do you buy and keep for yourself now?

Best is twizzlers. Worst are those chewy things in black and orange papers.

I love those! They're peanut buttery. I'll take any that you get.

Do Popcorn Balls count? Those were always the worst to get. That, or the people that handed out apples with mini Bibles.

Best was probably peanut butter cups. Or or that one house that always had the regular or King Size candy bars. That was always exciting.

Tootsie Rolls are the worst. (The chocolate ones. I like the other flavored ones.)

I always flailed over plain chocolate. The jaw breakers or gum balls always went to parents.

I try not to buy now, but I tend to buy some of the name brand chocolates on day after sale.

uh, I know there were some candies I didn't like, but I don't really remember what they are now. I didn't think about them very much haha.

I have several favorites...Milk Duds, Tootsie Rolls, Tootsie Pops, some others

yes I like chewy sugar things xD

I have never gone trick or treating... So nothing.

I like almond snickers.

Last year I noticed sour skittles were really popular with the kids.

Laffy Taffy and those awful orange marshmallow peanuts were the worst.

Best, a toe between Kit Kats and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Twix came in a close third. Now that they sell giant bags of those two together in the grocery store, I'll buy them for myself.

Tootsie Rolls, Bit o' Honey and popcorn balls were the worst. As for what I horde for myself these days, well, those little costumed brats can go fuck themselves if they think I'm gonna share my candy corn, Heath Bars or Cadbury's Halloween Creme Eggs with any of 'em.

Pretty much any candy was good with me. Faves are Reese's, Snickers and Twix.

Worst was popcorn balls and those little boxes of raisins.

I can't remember exactly what year this is, but I was old enough to realize it was weird. I must have been between 10 and 12 I think.

We went to this one guy's house. I remember he had a mustache. My father has facial hair so that isn't at all creepy to me, it's just the one thing I remember about his face. He was kind of skinny, dark hair, mustache.

He had a bowl of conversation hearts in individual bags.

Dark house, conversation hearts. It was a little weird to me.

Black licorice was the worst for me. I was always partial to any of the chocolate, haha. Mars, Caramilk, Mr. Big, and Smarties were my favs.

Best? White chocolate ghost on a stick thing. It was as big as my hand and it was homemade.

Worst? Those fucking candy cigarette things.

Best: Junior mints or yorks, peanut butter cups, kit-kats, chocolate tootsie rolls, milk duds, and heath bars. Anything chocolate with a good nut content. Nutter butters.
One guy always gave out noise-makers like whistles or horns, but only if he deemed your costume worthy. Everyone who got one tooted the HELL out of them to make the other kids burn with serious costume envy.

Worst: almond joy, nerds, starburst (well, it got me trading power with kids that liked them, so ok), and fucking candy corn. Beyond candy, anything an adult should realize cannot be reasonably consumed on spot or carried in a bag, like candied or caramel apples (nightmarish mess!) soda (because it's heavy, not candy, and is guaranteed to burst on someone's costume before the end of the night); cough drops (seriously think somebody ran out and was hoping it was too dark for people to notice); pencils, toothbrushes or toothpaste, twizzlers of any kind (they are even worse than non-candy because they LURK waiting for you to forget how horrid they are and try to eat them),.

Runner Up for Most Bizarre: Some lady one year handed out orange lipstick attached to an add for her makeup business. It looked very orange. But it went on practically colorless. I doubt her business took off.

Award for Most Bizarre: Accidentally rang the frat house's doorbell not realizing what it was. Some clearly INCREDIBLY drunk guy answered, and freaked the hell out because apparently he'd completely forgotten it was Halloween. He insisted we wait while he stumbled back into the party yelling "GUYS! guuuuys! You have to see- we have - TRICK OR TREATERS! Guys! Does anybody have any caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaandy?" We were just trying to scramble off when he practically fell back onto the porch and handed us a plate of cookies and a bowl of snack mix and insisted we take all of it.

Clearly, I have put way too much nostalgic thought to this and should get myself back to a country which celebrates Halloween ASAP.

I hate things like Oh Henry! I just don't like chocolate-caramel-peanut combinations in general.

Love me some Coffee Crisps, Caramilks and Crunchies.

Chocolate anything is and was great by me, and is what I buy now. Just a variety bag of assorted chocolatey things. Also had a soft spot for those little plastic rolls of Smarties... not that I know why, since they were basically just discs of sugar. Probably because they had such a pleasant combination of colors.

Worst... I don't remember a worst, honestly. I liked the boxes of raisins and apples, too. Fruit is delicious, and I used to make myself peanut butter and raisin or peanut butter and apple sandwiches.

Worst are and always will be the Sugar Daddy.

Best was either cherry Tootsie-Pop or Snickers.

The best: Usually twizzlers or mini packs of skittles. I also really liked root-beer barrels but only one old lady gave those out.

The worst: Candy corn! I hate candy corn so much. Also necco wafers, which is like eating chalk dust. (Tip for Terezi cosplayers: just bring a roll of necco wafers with you)

Best: Anything with chocolate, really! Nerds, Skittles

Worst: orange and black peanut butter candies that break your damn jaw, banana flavored Laffy Taffy, Jujubes, Bit o'Honey, Twizzlers or anything licorice, Bazooka bubble gum

I buy Midnight Milky Ways and Mini Reese's cups for myself now. :)

Candy corn is so nasty, like sugared wax.

My favorite, now and always, is Creepy Peepers. I also like Nestle Crunch.
