(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 12:03 am (UTC)(link)Ignore them if you must so you're not constantly thinking about it, but for the love of God don't post complaining about this on your tumblr. I known someone who did this and that was the best way to make sure I'd never want to see their work ever again.
OP
(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)Why do you think I put it here? Though coincidentally enough after I put the secret in the queue they did reblog something of mine so itch scratched. Moving on.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 12:04 am (UTC)(link)But I got an A every time. And no matter how hard I tried, I never got a mention. Finally in my last semester with him I just said out loud, "so I'm really good at writing about nothing particularly interesting, huh?"(That was not sarcasm.)
He didn't have an answer to that and sort of talked around it, but now I did. Anyway, it does suck to be very good but never exceptional.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 12:39 am (UTC)(link)I freaked out when the Almost Human Tumblr Official Page was following me.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 12:30 am (UTC)(link)That's still, what, one to three-five people who don't personally enjoy your writing/themes out of how many who presumably do, those who do just don't happen to be running a fandom blog. and your writing will never be liked by everyone, it's just not possible. you just happen to have a hint of who the people for who you don't ping are, instead of invisible people just not reblogging you on their personal blog.

Quantity ain't quality!

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 02:00 am (UTC)(link)I don't even follow this series.
And yet... you're tempting me.
(It probably doesn't help that I love rare and crack pairs.)

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 02:55 am (UTC)(link)It's be like having a blog where I signal boost young adult fantasy, I'm unlikely to mention Harry Potter. Everyone knows about that

(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)1. Popularity doesn't equate to excellence. You can post some truly extraordinary piece and the Tumblr droves will like a mediocre piece much more because of a popular subject, or something cute or clever. Animated gifs are popular. Tumblrites will like and repost a mediocre gif over a good screenie.
2. The internet changes and it changes fast. Odds are whoever on the official site who's decided to ignore you for whatever reason is going to move on, rl, a new shiny, etc, and someone new, or a new format will replace them. Let time be on your side, come back later, or catch on to the new thing that's going to make Tumblr a decrepit wasteland, which is going to happen in years to come as it does to every other site.
Don't let this crap get to you.

OP
(Anonymous) 2013-11-19 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)I actually thought about it for a while and I think they: avoid shipping, prefer colored pieces, don't want story spoilers, and shy away from "head canons."
So I ended up doing a piece that fit that description and got reblogged after submitting this secret. So mystery solved I guess. I feel cheap for doing it but at least I can get over it.
