Is the wank against the headcanons themselves? No, seriously asking here...

Because I have seen very little of either trans headcanons themselves or the backlash against them, but of what I have seen, the backlash is mostly against people who start to act as if their headcanon is actually canon or keep trying to press it on others who don't have that headcanon...which is irritating as hell no matter what the headcanon is about.

But like I said, I haven't seen much of this at all, so maybe someone who's seen more of these things can tell me. Have people been lashing out at the trans headcanons themselves or people being assholes about their headcanons?

I can only speak for the fandoms I've in, but no, I've never seen anyone get wanked just because they had trans headcanons. What I usually see is people who insist their trans headcanons are actually canon, and if anyone disagrees with them they're oppressing trans people or something. Hanji in Shingeki no Kyojin is a good example.

I've seen people lashing out against trans headcanons when said headcanon just consists of attaching random labels to the character and nothing else. For example, a post saying that Tony Stark is a homosexual demi-romantic femme trans man who is dating Pepper the asexual genderfluid trans woman. Other than that it's mostly like the above poster said and the backlash is against people who think you're a bigot for not sharing your headcanon.
