(Anonymous) 2013-11-23 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)This.
I love it when people get into comics and enjoy them. I think it's great if they ship characters in the comics. But if they get into the comics just to ship characters and ignore all the backstory and everything else going on and just cherrypick out moments for their ship then that bothers me. They're missing so much great stuff!

(Anonymous) 2013-11-23 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)i'll be honest, i've been reading x-men for a really long time (way too long, time to reevaluate my life choices) and there are certain runs i actively try to forget happened. even a couple of MUST READ, real-father-of-the-x-men-chris-claremont stories.
recent example: the fraction and brubaker runs. just say NO. don't do it, don't read, IGNORE IT ALL, that's my recommendation if someone asks me. yeah, i know he writes that cutesy hipster comic you like and shit, BUT DON'T TOUCH HIS X-MEN STUFF.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-24 12:36 am (UTC)(link)he's boring, doesn't get the dramarama appeal of the x-men, doesn't suit his writing. and he continues the trend of worshipping scott that started with whedon's astonishing.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-23 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)Sure, it's possible. But this secret smells of "I'm so much better than those *other* girls because I'm much more like a guy" to me.
