It's widespread but I wouldn't call it a problem. Unless the discussion comes up about game mechanics, there's really no way to tell if someone just watched the Let's Play of something verses someone who has played the game. You can miss details while playing a game and you can look up stuff on the internet to find out the stuff you don't know.
