I mean, I can see the point that the problem is not nearly as prevalent as battered women and that the relief organizations aren't as necessary, but I'm confused why it would actually make you angry.

Just seems like a bullshit "Look men Get beaten too, We're just as important as feminism! Down With misandry!!" bullshit. You know the Type of thing I'm talking about, The typical "Won't some body think of the menz!" shit these guys Are always spouting.

Yeah but I feel like, out of everything that MRAs do, this is the least objectionable, because (a) at least their money is where their mouths are - they're not just ranting about feminism on the Internet, they're taking positive action to redress those wrongs and (b) at least those things that they're doing are relatively positive - you can argue over relative importance, and I agree with you, but at the end of the day they're still addressing a real (if relatively uncommon) problem in a real and constructive way.

I mean, it's true that a lot of the theoretical stances surrounding and driving the whole thing are flawed and disagreeable. And probably those things lead them to do a lot of things a lot worse than they otherwise could. But at the end of the day, they're taking positive action to try and fix a problem, and whatever else you want to say about them, that makes them far better than most MRAs.

Dude, that's enough. It's one thing to roll your eyes at people who spout bullshit that's just words and ideas -- that's a legitimate complaint. But it's a VERY different thing to roll your eyes at actual real life men who have been battered. Real life men are not interchangeable with concepts and political movements and fictional representations.

And are you implying that gay men who are battered by their male partners don't count or something?

lolno @ the idea that "feminists" fight for abuse victims to be denied help and treated as the aggressor if they are men.
