(Anonymous) 2013-11-25 03:06 am (UTC)(link)I have seen trailers for games on TV and thought, "That looks like a lot of fun, and I'm really interested in the story!" If I'm interested enough in the story, I will watch an LP. It's a bit like watching a movie, for me, maybe with a friend who makes snarky comments about the movie while it's playing.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-25 07:43 am (UTC)(link)Seriously I don't get why it's not okay for someone to be legitimately terrible at gaming, but still enjoy watching others play. It's fine for sports games to have spectators; why not this type, too?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-25 03:18 am (UTC)(link)Hell, I'm still waiting to be able to play Amnesia and a whole bunch of other games because my computer is too old to be able to run them properly and I don't have the spare funds for a new computer right now. I have every intention of buying them and playing them for myself once I have the ability to, and I would never fault someone for turning to LPs in a situation like that or one where they get motion sick or whatever from the controls.
What I don't understand are the people who have the ability to play games and then never even try playing it. My sister is terrible with the controls in the original Silent Hill games but she still spent a couple of hours giving it a good shot before she handed the controller over to me so that I could finish it while she watched. At least give it a try.
