Do people actually bring up FGM as a way to say that male circumcision is justified????? what

No, but in a lot of discussions on circumcision (that I have seen), someone who self-identifies as feminist always brings up the "FGM is worse".

Yes. Yes it is, you will not get any argument about that from me. However, it is also not currently legal or common in my country, so I feel like I don't really have the "right" to talk about it, and it frustrates me when it's brought up every time circumcisions is talked about.

Wow. That's really dumb, yeah.

I mean unless they're doing it so say "look, this is hideous and we've made it illegal; why can't we see that this other thing is hideous and also make it illegal?" But I have a feeling that's not what you meant.

I haven't seen that though...hope I never do.

Yes it is.

No, this is an example of what I mean: http://archangellesnowflake.tumblr.com/post/66350559732

(You may wish to skip, though if you want to keep your track record of not seeing any of it, which I totally understand.) :)

Ah.

No, I've never seen that, but I spend very little time on tumblr, so if it's a tumblr phenomenon (like so many others) then that's probably why.

Glad that many people seem to disagree with them though. And I liked the photo set :)

I'm glad, it's rather annoying. And it's not just tumblr- that's just the most recent one I'm seen.

Yeah, me too- that was the only good thing about that comment; it brought out all the people who disagreed.

Not just a tumblr phenomenon. I've seen it a lot on LJ, too.
