See, I LOVE lots-of-blank-slate-characters type fandoms *pokes icon* just because they inspire my imagination. There might be a lot of shows and books that I enjoy because they have well-developed characters and exciting stories... but those are the types of stories that I enjoy while I'm experiencing them and then forget about after. They just... tend to not keep me thinking as much, because the author does all the thinking for me. And thus I don't feel as much of a need to look at fanworks, read other people's headcanons, see different people's takes on it, explore my own take on it through fanfic, et cetera.

I agree that it's pretty stupid to have fandom wars over headcanons, but there is a reason those things are popular, and there's nothing wrong with it.
