What? I can totally see it from Hannibal's point of view. But Hannibal is an unreliable narrator who also happens to be a fucking insane cannibalistic serial killer. Sure, he thinks he cares for Will and possibly believes that he truly is helping Will to be a better person. However, we, as (supposedly) impartial third party observers, who are privy to all of the information and not, in fact, insane and skewed in our perceptions, should be able to see that Hannibal doesn't experience true affection or demonstrate kindness of any kind.
Would you really want someone in your life who did the things to you that Hannibal did to Abigail, Will, and countless other victims? Would you really consider these actions kind?
