So, late to this party but curious none the less.

Never played the game, but watched the movies, and read all the books for assassins creed ~(yup novels). Does that really make you less of a fan? It just means your a fan of a different aspect of the game. Surely the same applies to LP? Like with any random you need to find the corner of random that matches your view point. I'm sure there are gamers who'd think you "weak sauce" for not playing the game in all hardness settings, watched many LP's, read all the books, walkthrough guides and all, and bought all the tshirts statues plushies toys jewellery etc. Doesn't make you any better or worse. Just makes you different. Embrace the different level of geek and be glad your not being dismissed as a loser who's only friend is his joystick

It makes you a fan of the movies and the novels, not the game.

Do you really think a "comic fan" is someone who never read the comics and only watched the movies?

da

If the movies were just animated panels of the comics, yes. Also, if they're blind and have someone else describe the panels and read the bubbles for them, they're still fans of the comics, despite not having "read" them themselves.

But movies based on comics are not done in such a way, so that is never the case.

On the other hand, comics and meant to be read and so, if someone reads a comic to a blind person, they are still experiencing it as reading material (because it's being read to them). The same goes with books and audio books, since is the exact same material in a different format.

Game are different though, because if you take the interactivity part they aren't games anymore.

Soundtrack is an important part of movies, but you wouldn't tell a deaf person they're not real fans of the movies, because they didn't experience them whole.
