Umm. As someone who lives a few miles north of the Mexican border, I beg to differ with your characterization of Spanish. You sound like your idea of Spanish comes from Speedy Gonzales or something.

I consider myself to be pretty racist towards Hispanics and even I just got offended by this.

Yeah, coming from a Puerto Rican family, Spanish only seems soft and cuddly when you have no idea what they are saying.

As far as Hispanics being too fluffy to be villains, have you seen what the drug cartels in Mexico and South America have done in real life? Not exactly Hallmarks moments all around. They can go toe to toe with anything Russia can produce.

The trouble when looking for a Big Bad is the world is, broadly speaking, at peace. There are no world ending conflicts happening right now, despite best efforts by some Hawks in Government and the Repub party to get one started or pretend the "War on Terror" is a serious thing, so there is no real big bad guy ready and waiting. Basically if you want a genuine evil accent right now, go figure out what the hell it is the base accent of the NSA, because right now they are it. And they are only the closest thing we have to a Big Bad because they keep pretending there is one out there, and occasionally try to provoke conflicts into existence.

One: You do realize Mexico is not part of South America, right? If you wanted to include it you should have used Latin America for this to be geographically correct.

Two: you're missing one "L" in estrella. It takes two seconds to check that on Google or an online dictionary. I do it all the time with English spelling.

The lack of attention to these details along with those offensive images suggest you're kinda a racist troll in which case, congratulations, you're a racist troll.

Being Latin American it gets old too, because the portrayals are so ridiculous.

But as others have said, you should study some Latin American history. Read up on the Trujillo regime in the Dominican Republic, the Spanish civil war, and the current situations in Mexico and Colombia.

Well, I find this extremely annoying. ¿Why are all of you thinking that we (latin american people) are either bad or "fluffy"? I'm from Venezuela and I've been to Peru, Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia and I can assure you that as well as any country in the world, you can find super nice people and, well... terrible persons. Let's not generalize things, ok? I know you are just been driven by stereotypes and I am not denying that some of those are true, but please, stop that.
About the secret, well... I don't feel personally offended by the fact that lately, a lot of villains seemed to be from Latin America, but I know people who does. Despite of the "horrible picture USA is showing about us", I watch a movie with the only intention of enjoying it. I'm aware of the crime, drugs and corruption in our countries and although I've never been personally affected by them (because I am extremely careful every time I leave home) it makes me sad and angry, but the only thing I can do is try to be a better, smarter person than the ones who came before me. That's it.
And I just wanted to express this so you guys can have a real inside perspective about this. But then again, this is just my point of view.
Oh, and I am truly sorry if I made any mistakes in this comment. If that's the case, feel free to tell me because you'll be doing me an awesome favor :)

The incidental racism in this secret has been the most memorable WTF moment I've had in FS! this week.

But yeah, your opinion boils down to the fact that the only thing you know about spanish speakers is what the american media and entertainment industry has taught you.

And besides your obviously sheltered surroundings, I don't think this issue is entirely your fault.
