Yeah, coming from a Puerto Rican family, Spanish only seems soft and cuddly when you have no idea what they are saying.

As far as Hispanics being too fluffy to be villains, have you seen what the drug cartels in Mexico and South America have done in real life? Not exactly Hallmarks moments all around. They can go toe to toe with anything Russia can produce.

Beyond drug cartels, the dictators in Southern America and Spain were not exactly cute and cuddly.

As someone from a Puerto Rican family as well, I totally agree. It's actually easier to insult people in spanish than it is in english, and we can do it seemlessly. xD

Mexico scares me. People go missing daily. The body count is high. I don't blame so many of them risking it all to escape up here to the States. =(

THIS. And my parents had too many Colombian friends with too many terrifying stories for me to ever not take the situation there seriously.

Also I want to make this person read the Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. But then again I think that should be mandatory reading in general.
