How would you imagine Maryland? I'm from Maryland and can't really think of much special other than crabs... maybe because I live so close to DC, I hear a lot more about DC than Maryland.

Maryland could be a set of twins. A government official for the western portion, and a crab fisherman for the eastern shore. They're really distant and distrust each other though, as the western twin only wants the eastern twin's beach house.
