except we only know of jacob's pov. in his mind the baby is his but what about the baby? does she have any say about being his 'one and only'?

the whole thing with pedophilia is that children are not capable of knowing what romantic love and can be easily manipulated. after all, who at the age of five can say they know what it is to crush and yearn for someone; it's just not in their brain processing capabilities.

im also assuming imprinting is based off of sexual and physical desires due to werewolf nature? and that is extremely creepy. you can say that baby will probably be your one and only in the future, but until she is old enough to understand her own emotions, marking someone as your own is inappropriate and excludes the other person's freedom of choice.

If I remember the books right, even as adults it's like they have no choice once a werewolf imprints on them. That is some bullshit. I've met some people I get along with amazingly and if they randomly told me "we're soulmates, there's LITERALLY no one else in the world, I own you now" FUCK THAT. The lack of choice is creepy as shit at any age and gets into REALLY AWFUL territory when they involve a CHILD.

They do technically have a choice but Meyer assumes that no one would be able to resist someone who is that devoted to them and I suspect that the pack would not be happy if the person one of their members imprinted on turned them down so there is a lot of pressure there too.

And don't forget the case where that happened resulted in face maiming and some sorta stockholm syndrome love afterwards.

in "nessie's" case she has very advanced brain development and is able to understand more mature emotions at a relatively young age (she grows up hella fast as well) in the books at least and I remember her being accepting of the imprinting thing and somewhat possessive over jacob so she may not be the best example to use in this case though it's still creepy. Quill's situation might be a better example because he imprinted on a perfectly normal and human baby who will age normally and likely has normal cognitive function for her age. Her situation makes me feel much more uneasy
