You do realize that A) After heaven, the hell on earth seemed like shit and B) One of the reasons she was so 'woe is me' was because she was terrified that thanks to her friends pulling her out, she wouldn't be allowed to go back, right?

Pretty much this. There wasn't a front row seat reserved for her, as OP says. There was a good chance that she'd be denied entrance either for having left or by just not doing the right things or by doing the wrong things so she never makes it back there. Plus, she went from HEAVEN back to a life she hated. I didn't like the series much after Dawn was introduced but even I can appreciate that there would be major angst after what she went through and the prospect that she wouldn't get back.

I came here to say this. I can't imagine anything worse than being able to miraculously achieve heaven just for some selfish idiots to haul you back to Earth so you can fuck up enough to earn yourself a slot in hell. And after the shit she was doing with Spike (mostly to Spike), I'm willing to bet Buffy's "reserved seat" was no longer so guaranteed. I'd be fucking apocalyptic at any friends that did that to me.
