embarrassing things you told people and immediately regretted telling

It often happens to me when I do not get enough sleep. Then I start saying really inappropriate things to everyone, or telling people things I would normally keep secret, and then I walk around all the day and wonder what the hell possessed me to tell that to anybody.

I only wish I got embarrassed by stuff. 90% of the things I tell people they forget because I'm fairly unmemorable, so I don't even care about what I say.

The details of my psychotic breakdown. I've never actually told anyone the exact things I've seen and done, but even the altered account I've given people makes me feel embarassed.

One time I was joking around about something that happened earlier but one of my friends took it in a way I didn't mean and got upset at me before I had an opportunity to explain. It happened years ago but still feel bad when I think about it even though it was a misunderstanding.

In high school when I told a girl I was kind of friends with (I never had any real friends there I was comfortable with) that I watched Pokemon. It was embarrassing because: a) it was that time when almost everyone considered Pokemon for little kids only, and was also the overhyped annoying fad of the moment that no little kids ever shut up about, b) I told her because I thought she had asked me if I watched "any TV," and it turned out she'd actually asked if I watched "MTV."

It seems so small a thing, and she didn't make fun of me, but all I could think about the rest of that week was wanting to die of embarrassment.

Yes, usually when I'm overly tired or drunk, or I somehow misjudged how close we are.

When I got back to high school after dropping out the year before due to depression, I was so anxious about going back and what to do when people asked me why I was a year older than them and stuff like that. So I told my shrink about these concerns and he told me to just get it out right away. So on the first day of school we had to present ourselves to the class so when it came to me I said something like, "Hi, I'm [name], 17 years old, and I started going here after being super depressed and dropping out of my previous school." And I felt so uncomfortable right away, and I felt so pissed off at my shrink because I had looked to him for guidance and it almost felt like a betrayal of some sort. I just wanted to disappear. Nothing bad came out of it though, but I'm still mortified thinking of it.

There's also the time when I was really drunk, chatting with a guy in a wheelchair who complained about the fact that he'd never had a girlfriend and I found it appropriate to tell him that "Girls really like guys they can fix." And I wanted to take it back the second I said it, it didn't seem like he took any offense though. He still shared his booze with me at least. Still, this is another thing that makes me really embarrassed when I think about it.

Once, one of my classmates upset me so much, I ended up having a breakdown and explaining my anxiety while I cried and huddled up in a little ball. Bad enough that I had a breakdown in the middle of class, but to start spouting nonsense about my mental condition as if I wanted sympathy ... urgh. Thank God that was near the end of the school year and we are now totally removed from each other's lives.

I always say embarrassing secrets to my friends when I'm sleep deprived and I always regret it because things never work out afterward the way I imagined they would when I was tired enough to believe they would. I usually end up confessing some really deep feelings or important life events and stuff.

Just a while ago I got off from work and was buying almond milk and my friend checked me out. She asked me if the almond milk was any good and while I explained to her about having it as a substitute to milk I added, "it's also better than milk whn you're on your period." and saying it out loud I realized that made it seem kinda awkward. :x
