The Rescuers for sure. Anybody got any others?

I've never seen Straight Jacket, but I LOVE the other three. Good taste.

I remember once we were talking about 'Turner and Hooch' and 'Jumpin Jack Flash.'

The Rescuers Down Under. I like the original, yes, but I like the second even more and people tend to forget it exists.

I prefer the second one too!

I've only ever seen the second one (didn't realize it was even a sequel until adulthood) but I loved it as a kid.

I like both for different reasons. The Rescuers Down Under is more fun to watch, but I love the atmosphere and setting in the first one.

I thought the Rescuers Down Under was the first film as a kid because I saw them backwards, and I think I do prefer the second one ever so slightly. But the first is still good.

I don't know about underrated, but one of my favorite movies is The Gods Must Be Crazy, which I don't think is terribly mainstream.

A Scanner Darkly. Most reviews basically boiled down to "it's ABOUT DRUGS! and it's ANIMATED! TRIIIIIPYYYYYYY!!!!panties 8d" and completely glossed over the fact that it's a savage and depressing critique of drug culture and the war on drugs that stays 90% faithful to the original Philip K. Dick novel.

The Iron Giant.

I hadn't heard anything about it when it first came out, and then I started hearing in fandom "hey this movie is actually really good" and then I watched it and it was so much better than I even expected.

Treasure Planet deserved more attention and money than it got at the box office. If Disney releases more of its older films in 3D, like they did with Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, I'd want to see that one. That or Fantasia.

Playing by Heart (Gena Rowlands, Sean Connery, Madeline Stowe, Dennis Quaid, Jon Stewart, Gillian Anderson, Jay Mohr, Ellen Burstyn, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Phillippe, Anthony Edwards) - amazing cast, rather sweet and very sad at points

Peter's Friends (Kenneth Branagh, Rita Rudner, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Alphonsia Emmanuel, Imelda Staunton, Tony Slattery, Phyllida Law) - amazing cast, funny, sweet and occasionally very poignant

Satisfaction - sex, drugs, and rock and roll - but, you know, in kind of a nice 80s way

Better Off Dead - terribly, endearingly 80s crack-tastic

Stick It - gymnastics, not gym-nice-tics

I love Woody Allen's "Small Time Crooks" and "Curse of the Jade Scorpion." They're just fun, light-hearted, escapist movies for a rainy day.

The Plague Dogs. It's not necessarily underrated, but I've never met anyone who has heard of it. It's definitely in my top ten.
