Secret 4 - Boy Meets World
I've never liked them as a couple. I don't care about the new spin-off, either.
Not going to Yale just to be with your boyfriend is a terrible idea and so is getting married while you're still in college.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-06 07:16 am (UTC)(link)It is just school, which is not as important as all of you are making it. Maybe this is because I came from the generation where we ALL got degrees and then everyone had to get entry level jobs anyway, because there were no jobs. (I went to an IT school btw.)
Your relationships are always more important.
Yale isn't going to take care of you when you are old. A nice job isn't going to love you when you've had a stressful day. A lot of money has never solved anyone's problems.
And this whole idea that being married is a BAD financial decision? Is there anything backing that idea up? Uh, you get cheaper car insurance and health insurance (since you get to get it joint), you get more money back on your taxes at the end of the year, you get loans for anything but especially school loans easier (with lower interest) once you are married.
And some people simply can't get the loans at all until they turn 25, because their parents can't afford to get the loans (or refuse to help their kids get loans) and the money their parent make count against them until they either get married or turn 25.
Turning your back on someone you know you want to spend the rest of your life with because of something as replaceable as school? A job? or Money? If you are in a happy healthy relationship, you hold on to it. People are NOT as replaceable as SCHOOLS.
I've been to a lot of schools in my life (including 2 colleges and 1 university) and none them would I give up spending time with someone I love over. People in my life that treat me well will always trump the place I sit in a classroom at.
AND recent studies have shown that those big dream colleges like Yale and Harvard are actually just a waste of money. It doesn't get you farther in the long run, simply farther in debt. So financially NOT going to Yale is a really SMART thing for people to do.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-06 10:31 am (UTC)(link)Likewise, going to a different college than your loved ones isn't choosing to NOT have them in your life. It might make a relationship more challenging, but it's not impossible. If people love you, they're going to love you whether they see you every day or if you're living hundreds or miles away.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-06 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)Au contraire. It has always solved the problems of: where are we going to sleep tonight, what are we going to eat today, are we going to eat at all, this thing broke & can I fix/replace it, the bills are piling up, and I'm stressed out and need a fun way to relax that doesn't involve lurking at the free library (or, I need the ability to do anything not-work for a change).

(Anonymous) 2013-12-08 08:22 am (UTC)(link)People like to assume that all of their problems are money related when only a few of them are. You aren't going to quit hating yourself just because you have a lot of money.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-07 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)I literally burst out laughing when I read this. Yeah, yeah it has. I, and probably a huge portion of the world population, can attest to this personally.
