I don't know about caring about the show, but considering that his death scene was pretty graphic I can see why people would find it upsetting. Especially people who have pets. He was shown rolling under the tires of the car, and that's something no dog owner (or anyone who cares about animals) wants to see.

I'm surprised that people are still watching this show. o___O

Brian's death has truly brought to light just how pathetic and hypocritical the majority of Family Guy fandom is. The majority of people throwing a shitfit over this are the exact same people who, whenever someone complained about the awful treatment of Meg or the show's misogyny in general, would respond along the lines of "LOL, get a sense of humor you fucking feminazi!" (or just "Shut up, Meg"). But with this? "OMG NOOOOOOO!!!!! ;_____; Seth I haaaaate yooooou hoau dare u kil Brian!?!/1/ I'm Gonna kill myselff!!!" (And yes, there are many, many "Why couldn't it be Meg?" as well).

Fortunately, the chance of these people producing offspring are very, very slim.

Agreed. Now if they'd just kill off Quagmire, Peter and Lois, I might start watching again.

I gave up on the show years ago, so I really didn't care when I found out about that episode. My reaction was pretty much just "Oh, OK, well everything about Family Guy is awful now, so no loss there."

But strangely enough, I was actually disappointed when I heard he'd probably be coming back. Plenty of other fandoms kill off popular characters for good, and I'd like to think that they should at least go that route instead of making it seem like they were going to make a serious change and then backing out.
