Re: Bad Advice
WELL THANKS I'LL JUST TAKE MY PERSONALITY IN AND OUT, THEN.
...Advice in general is kind of dodgy, especially unasked-for advice given to children. It always seems like it was meant for someone that isn't you, and the people who like giving it don't seem to think.

Re: Bad Advice
Also, my mom was there at the time, so she occasionally brought it up when I was being obnoxious. GOD DAMMIT PEOPLE MY BRAIN IS NOT AN EARRING WHY ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH THIS CONCEPT!? XD

(Anonymous) 2013-12-08 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)(And what I think he might have meant was something along the lines of the fact that you have to consider who you're with, which is true to some extent - I have interests my friends don't share and vice versa, so there are things we can talk about and do together and other things we can't. But it's not like we have to take out our personalities. WTF.)
Re: Bad Advice
I think that's what he was getting at, yeah. My solution to this problem ended up being just spending time with people who, you know, actually like me and don't expect me to treat aspects of myself like jewelry.
(...Now I'm wondering if this subconsciously gave me my taste in wacky earrings. Or influenced me to get cartilage piercings that I don't take in and out. :P)

(Anonymous) 2013-12-08 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)I AM ASKING *chinhands*
(only if you want to tell, etc.)
Re: Bad Advice
I mean, I don't think he believed it, but I kind of think he wanted me to believe it. The same dude pretended to call Santa and told him not to bring me any presents if I kept being "bad." (In retrospect, I was not a bad kid. Just kind of weird. NO PRESENTS FOR WEIRDOS! XD)
