I haven't seen Frozen yet so I can't comment on that, but IMO the best kids movies are the ones that are actually more accurately family movies, in that kids AND adults can love them together. My favorite movie as a kid was Beauty and the Beast, and it's something I can watch as an adult and appreciate. I love Tangled dearly and watch it regularly, even as an adult. I was kind of a precocious kid when it came to media, and I hated movies/tv talking down to me more than anything. Talking animals aren't necessarily a bad thing, but I wasn't a fan of things that were clearly made to try and appeal JUST for kids.

I have no idea how the snowman really fits into the film because I haven't seen it yet (but I do plan to, eventually), but I don't think kids movies are and should be JUST for kids.

Olaf actually isn't that annoying. I thought he was going to be this woopssilly! kind of character, but he's actually not. He also has some funny lines, which surprised me.

I really expected not to like him, myself.. but he ended up being very interesting. There was a lot of symbolism in his creation/recreation, his outlook, and they really seemed to know when to reign him in so that he wasn't obnoxious and in your face going "look at ME! Look! Aren't I just so WACKY and FUNNY!?"

He actually ended up being one of my favorite characters.
