Re: Bad Advice

One time I worked at a job that had a lot of high-end clients, and one of the staff members tried to convince me to be an escort for rich men. When I told him that I had a long term relationship with my boyfriend, planned to move in with said boyfriend, and was no way interested because I'd rather find another way to pay for graduate school, he basically told me, "You know, your boyfriend could leave you any time. How is puppy love going to pay the bills? You're a young and beautiful girl. You should take advantage of that while you still can."

So yeeeeeaaah, I got out of that job real fast because skeevy things like that started happening more frequently.

AYRT

Yeah, it was really trashy there when it came to dealing with workers, especially women workers. Which is a bit ironic considering all the clients were filthy rich.

I really hated working there. A lot of the employers treated the women who worked there like pieces of meat to rate on a number scale. And they talked about it out loud. We all just wanted to get paid, so none of us spoke out against it. I used to dread going there, so my last day was a celebration.

Though I'm still dealing with an issue from that same damn workplace because this nutjob from there started stalking me for months. Long story short, he thought he was a big shot because all these girls working there wanted to date him, and he didn't take too kindly to the one person who had a boyfriend rejecting him. I was talking to my father about it the other day and he suggested a restraining order, but I'm still debating on getting it considering the hassle it will cause and the fact that I'll be leaving the state in a few months anyway.

Just ugh, if there's ONE THING I could take back in life, it would be applying for that stupid job.

Ugh. Men who can't deal with rejection because they think they're the best thing that ever happened to women make me want to punch them in the face.

I hope he doesn't cause any more problems until he moves away, and I'm glad you're not in that job anymore.

Out of curiosity, if I may ask - what kind of job was it? Based on the fact that the escort thing really upset you, it doesn't sound like it was sexual in nature to begin with. Something in hospitality?

I hope so too. He was really verbally abusive towards my boyfriend and started acting that way towards me. But thankfully I won't even be in this state in a few months so the chances of seeing him again are slim to none!

And the job was working at a spa and fitness center for rich clients. Membership was super expensive, and it was part of this apartment complex for millionaires. So the question I was asked about being an escort had no place at my job, which was helping people at the front desk.
