Jewish is both a religion and a cultural group. People seem to miss this, anyone from any background can convert to a religion; a culture is something you grow up with, and you can be Jewish in both ways or just one.

At the Diaspora Museum there's an exhibit meant to show exactly that - they show pictures of Jews from all over the world, and no two look alike. Jews come in basically every race and color.

It's actually exciting that nowadays more East-Asian Jews are showing up, as some of the descendants of Chinese Jews decide to convert, and there are some Korean and Japanese converts as well.
