Does making Santa asian or black or handicapped or gay somehow take away from who Santa is?

Disregarding the fact that a handicapped santa seems pretty infeasible in the mythos of the character (How many sleds are wheelchair accessible? How many chimneys have ramps? Can you imagine the kerfuffle of moving a wheelchair along a sloped snowy roof?) I think there could be an argument that it kinda would take a bit away from santa, from the point of view of the children, if there is two obviously different people pretending to be santa.

You do know that the vast majority of disabled people aren't wheelchair users, right? And that not all wheelchair users are completely 100% unable to walk?

I honestly don't give two shakes one way or the other, but I think you're really overestimating the infeasibility here.
