I just hate the people who vehemently deny slash ships.

"Stop saying that character is GAY they are my favorite character and they are in love with [character of opposite sex]." "Omg SHE'S A CHILD stop sexualizing her [by saying she has in innocent crush on another girl]." "Lol delusional slash shippers, as if a cartoon for kids is ever going to have gay characters. I'M NOT HOMOPHOBIC I just feel it is my job to remind you to be realistic."

Or my favorite: Dear creator of a canon, I love your canon, but ewwww why are you making it gay? if you don't change this in the next update I will NEVER READ/VIEW/LISTEN TO YOUR CANON AGAIN.

Ugh, that is my absolute least favorite. I adore really cutesy, innocent femslash because it's nice to see after all the homophobes acting like gay people are inherently more sexual than straight people.

My counter to that is always "She's what, eleven? That's how old I was when I first started consciously noticing girls' bodies (and yes, thinking about having sex with them), reading femslash on the internet and trying to get my hands on any information about being gay. And even before that I was gay, I just didn't really understand it or have the words to express what I felt."

but I don't usually get into it because I know their "arguments" will shortly devolve into hate speech

Oh jeez, that last one I've seen in Night Vale a few times. On the plus side, the creators are legitimately Wonderful Human Beings and pretty much said 'okay bye', so...

Yep, Night Vale and Gunnerkrigg were what I had in mind. It is awesome that they didn't cave in, but honestly I don't know why they would. It's their story, nobody else has a right to tell them how to write it. And I'm pretty sure at this point they'd lose more of their audience/money than they'd gain.

Oh jeez, yeah. It was... interesting watching the comments explode for GC - even up to the point where Kat and Paz were, you know, kind of actively making out, there were STILL people going, "...But they're just friends, right? Kat can't be a lesbian, she had a boyfriend for one week two years ago!"

I swear the, "Not just friends?" "Haha." exchange was deliberately written in response to those commenters.

Lol I do NOT understand the obsession they have with Aly. The end of the chapter says "She never saw him again."

Even recently when Annie said "Do you remember Allistair?" there was one comment that said something like, "Yeah do you remember Allistair? The MALE MEMBER OF THE OPPOSITE SEX THAT YOU LIKED?"

Pisses me off as a lesbian and an artist, get over it, people.

My (terrible) headcanon is that Aly became someone's dinner a long time ago.
