[Sherlock Holmes/Star Trek: The Next Generation]

(Anonymous) 2013-12-30 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
My first exposure to Sherlock Homes was through those Star Trek episodes...

(Anonymous) 2013-12-30 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes to Geordi!Watson! You supply the image of an existing depiction of Watson when you read them. It's not uncommon or incomprehensible in the slightest. And Geordi makes a good Watson at that, so you're just awesome.

Whenever they solve crime, he tells Sherlock!Data that the answers are in a book. He just needs to take a look...

Sorry. Couldn't help myself.

Will +1 this forever

Omg OP you are officially the most adorable Holmes fan ever. :) :) :) <3

(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
The best Watson, clearly. (Do the other Watsons know how to fix a problem with the warp drive? No. No they do not.)

Geordie is such a cutie-patootie in his Watson outfit.

Secret 7 - Sherlock Holmes (books), Star Trek: The Next Generation (TV series)

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-12-31 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Geordi La Forge, as portrayed by LeVar Burton, from the TV series "Star Trek: The Next Generation". He is a man with dark skin and a golden narrow visor sort of thing covering his eyes. He is wearing an old-fashioned suit (jacket, vest, shirt, tie, pants/trousers) plus a matching sort of purple-brownish colored bowler hat. There is a golden chain coming out of his pockets and attached to his vest. He looks very dapper, standing in front of the corner of a brick wall.]

Even though it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, my brain automatically supplies him for my mental image of Watson when I'm reading the books.

I LOVE THAT EPISODE SOOOOOO MUCH AND I LOVE THIS SECRET TOO.

YOU ARE THE BEST.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
ILU. This is awesome. <3

(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
I do this too, OP.

I still want to see a Burton-and-Spiner production of Holmes at some point. The episodes of TNG are great but not enough!

No-one in this thread agreeing with the OP has the least taste or respect for canon Holmes and Watson. Or Star Trek for that matter.

This was also the best Moriarty. Bar none.

True story. I was one of the rare (endangered, on USENET, b/c there would be flaaaaaaaaaamessss of hellishness if one admitted this) Pulaski fans, so the whole interaction between Moriarty and Pulaski was just perfect, as far as I was concerned.

There is nothing in any way incorrect about this, OP.

Does it also supply the mental image of Data as Holmes?

If all you need is a mental image to go along with the words, there are much worse things to imagine than Geordie La Forge in a very nice three piece suit.

... In relation to most things, really.

What are you talking about, that makes PERFECT sense! Also, Geordi looks dapper as fuck in period wear. You have good taste. :D
