Gaynadian Stream this Saturday ♥
Because I am a Canadian in Canada and like gay things, the theme is LGBT film made in this wonderous wasteland. Things in the next comment that should be collapsed by now.
Re: Gaynadian Stream this Saturday ♥
And then I have Lost And Delirious which is lesbians being tragic and sad and depressing in Ontario (how fitting for this Western Canadian!). Based on the novel everyone should read, The Wives of Bath, a mousy girl nicknamed Mouse, played by Mischa Barton (who has a teen forehead), watches her two sempais bend one of their homophobic parent's and Catholic school's opinions.
And if I can find my copy of Floored By Love, I might show that instead. Going all the way to East Canada,
Vangoobera Vancouver lesbian couple do the same thing as the previous movie, except it's a romantic comedy made-for-tv movie about a cute Japanese lady and her Chinese Girlfriend (relevant info) do basically also like a The Birdcage only with parents instead of kids. Actually that sounds dumb. The imdb quote is better:
"An Asian lesbian couple and a mixed race gay teen living in the same Vancouver apartment building struggle with their cultural identities, and how to balance their family needs and relations, just after same sex marriage is legalized in Canada."

(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 02:28 am (UTC)(link)Re: (it's all good)
Given that I'm in Alberta (hence Western Canadian), it's in my nature to be the worst Canadian, which is in turn part of being Canadian ;)

It's rather not nice this time of year here. Calgary is though, so I'm obligated to be jealous.

(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 03:36 am (UTC)(link)True, I'll admit I was thinking more about summer when I wrote that. But hey! At least your summers are awesome?
Re: (it's all good)
It's like my city gets extremely cold or extremely hot. But the bright side is that summer at least gets all the festivals so there's something to see whether it's fringe theater, street fairs, or whatever :)
Re: (it's all good)
(Anonymous) 2013-12-31 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)Austin's food scene is...okay. Tbh, Austin is more of an overgrown college town than anything else or that's what it always seemed like for the 6-ish years I lived there. Don't get me wrong - if you want a live music scene, then Austin is the city to go to. It's got what is arguably one of the best live music scenes in the country - and one that's definitely approaching, if not on, the international level. However food-wise, the city you'd want is Houston. A lot of people come to Houston [internationally] for the food scene and you can find just about anything food.
Yeah, Texas tends be very hot during the summer [116 F isn't exactly abnormal], but really nice in the winter since it rarely freezes in the lower parts. But festivals - god, I love the festivals! What kinds do you guys have up there?
/coughs Sorry the tl;dr,btw. The 4 major cities in Texas just tend to be pretty specialized into what they do [more so than normal, anyways] so it's fairly easy to point out which city has the scene someone is looking for. ...Except for roads. Those tend to suck in all of them XD;;Re: (it's all good)
With your info in mind though, I'm going to make sure to check out each respective scene the next time I get a chance to visit Texas. I'm not a huge music buff, so Austin will be more about chilling and walking on sidewalks, but Houston will be the main for FOOD.
time
Same as the other streams I guess, which is 6pm EST iirc?
