Wait, what? How on earth is DBZ deep in any way?

One of the BIG ones is family/friends and relationships in general. An example would be how Vegeta reacts to Future!Trunks as opposed to little!Trunks. His growth as a father and an individual from Cell Saga to the Buu Saga.

I think they are asking for something where people say something meaningful but it's not followed by a ridiculous explosion or whatever that was in the gifs, ahah. Probably should have picked less lulzy gifs, tbh, for an anony who probably already has a slanted view of the series.

I don't think character development necessarily makes something "deep" although I did enjoy vegeta's character growth (and his eventual mustache growth which was hilarious)

They didn't say it was deep, just deeper than they thought it would be. Depending on their expectations, that might not have been hard.

yeah, I thought it was just people with super powers fighting and nothing else, but turns out there was a plot and stuff about family, friendship, goals in life, and all that fun shounen stuff (which I knew nothing about because I didn't watch anime)
