Ironically, one of the most famous roles she's in is a deconstruction of that very trope. She plays a type. That doesn't mean she's like that when the camera is off. If anything, she's a bit of a marketing genius because she knows what audience to cater to.

Have you seen any of her interviews or public appearances at all? She isn't just playing a type, she pretends to be that quirky girl off-camera as much as she pretends on-camera.

And? That's what most celebs do if they really want to sell an image of themselves that they know their fans like. It's all about the marketing.
