Ironically, one of the most famous roles she's in is a deconstruction of that very trope. She plays a type. That doesn't mean she's like that when the camera is off. If anything, she's a bit of a marketing genius because she knows what audience to cater to.

Of course it's all about the marketing but Zooey is in the top 10% of celebrities who all play the same type of person in every movie they're in and obviously try to pretend they're that person off camera as well. It's annoying and people have a right to think it's annoying, marketing ploy or not.
