After watching the movie twice, I don't blame her for feeling the way she did. But imho, the movie... didn't really handle her character well at all, now that I think of it. If anything, I got the feeling that Mary was only added so there could be some kind of conflict between Gary and Walter. She didn't really get much character development, outside of coming off as a "soft" antagonist (for lack of a better term) for the brothers. idek. =/

Well, she did come through and help save (part of) the day with her electrician skills, but yeah, other than that, I agree with you.

Yeah, she wasn't given a lot of characterization.

I think, though, to be fair, of the four major characters original to the movie (her, Gary, Walter, and Mr Richman), only Walter is given any serious characterization.

Richman's the insanely cartoony bad guy.
Gary is Walter's protective-and-thus-overly-attached brother.
Mary is Gary's long-suffering girlfriend.

(... I can't believe I only just now noticed that Gary and Mary rhyme. *facepalm*)

Gary gets a little bit of growth, but it's only to demonstrate Walter's.
