Re: I did something horrible and I can't ever atone.

Obviously I have no idea what you did, but I have been in a similar situation as far as doing something horrible and thinking I could never atone for it. Some others knew what I did and they have never forgiven me. I had to learn to forgive myself, which I'm still struggling with. But the most important thing has been for me to change my behavior and way of thinking. I cannot undo what I did. But I can be a better person. That doesn't erase what I did in any way, but it's the closest thing to atonement I can ever achieve.

I hope you can eventually forgive yourself, if only sometimes. And I hope you can find peace within yourself over time.
