It gets even worse when fans use his haircut (and general demeanor) to make him a punk and/or delinquent loser in modern AUs.

HE WAS IN THE TOP 10 OF HIS CLASS. IN THE ARMY. He might have been doing it for selfish reasons and he can be an insufferable asshole at times but goddamn he has the skills to back it up! You do not get into the top ten of a military class that accepts crippling injuries and DEATH while being a delinquent.

And now it's the year of the horse and the fucking horse jokes have started again in earnest. Kill me now.

I can deal with the horse jokes because they're meant to be dumb and you don't end up reading a whole fic only to have him turn into a horse in the end they way you end up reading a fic that's badly characterized.

I don't mind dumb jokes. The 104th trying to predict the weather via Bertholt's bizarre sleeping positions is a dumb joke, but also cute and hilarious (and tragic).

The horse jokes aren't just fucking dumb, but also unfunny and 99% of the time are terrible photoshop jobs that take no effort. Not to mention that it was spawned from ONE minor throwaway comment. UGH.

The horse jokes are so unfunny. I don't even know where they came from besides the one time Eren said it. It's ridiculous how hard fandom latched onto it.

And on another note I am so sick and tired of Mikasa being portrayed as a creepy, jealous yandere in every fucking fanart.

Or Eren/Armin as this innocent wide-eyed uke that everybody adores. Um, did these people even watch the show or read the manga? -_-
