Sorry I jumped on you, anon!

I don't even normally comment on these threads, I scroll on past. I'm just really tired of seeing debate about social issues. (Especially when that debate basically consist of you "GO TO HELL YOU -insert slur here-", and "NO U, DIE IN A FIRE".

I deal with some of this shit IRL from family members & friends, and then I get online and see threads full of all caps and trolling, and it's just exhausting.

I think there was an secret a while back about how someone wanted to start wank in F!S because "wahhhh the comm is dying". How is wank going to make the comm better? If anything, it'll turn it into a cesspit, because all the extremists & trolls will flock to debates, and the more moderate people who just want to get along will GTFO.

That's alright, other anon! Agreed with you about the wanky posts. It's not like they go anywhere constructive. I just wanted to see some discussion on this article because I keep seeing this kind of stuff on Tumblr. F!S probably isn't the best place for me to put this but I can't think of another place that isn't Tumblr.

They are basically some of the whitest people on earth! Heck they almost live on the fuckings north pole! They need all the exposure to sun they can get so they won't die of Vitamin D deficiency, hence being really fuckings white.

they are indigenous people tho, and a minority with the right to have their culture and way of life protected... Even if they are not the oldest "type of people" living in Norway and most of them live in Oslo... But that is a debate I refuse to have on any kind of online forum.

Sami became PoC when SJWs started hating Frozen. They started saying that they were whitewashing the main dude who is supposed to be Sami. It's really funny that issues only become important to them when they get personally involved in it.

And again, how on earth would any Sami* in non modern times end up being POC? How? It wasn't like Scandinavia had a lot of nonwhite folks running around in olden times. Immigration from outside of Scandinavia is a really resent thing, and even more resent that far north (and rightly so, who the fuck would want to live above the polar circle, it is cold and dark up in the frozen hellhole of The North).

That the Sami have mostly in the past been discriminated against and a lot of bad stuff has been done to them is another matter entirely. I guess it is hard for some people to wrap their heads around the fact that being white does not automatically mean that you don't have an history of discrimination. For those folks, I will kindly direct them to my ancestry, which the Norwegian government managed to make extinct, through castration and taking any child that got born and adopting them away if they were lucky or put in an orphanage if they werent. Latest in the 60s if I remember correctly, and that is just how far the government is willing to say they did it.

*In modern times it could be possible, I was debating how a nonwhite Sami could come to be with a friend a couple of days ago. We ended up with adoption or interracial marriage as the two obvious solutions.

After Frozen came out, some people were really up in arms that everyone in the Scandinavian movie was white, and said they should have included some Sami people for POC. A lot of people whining about certain aspects of Frozen had their heads firmly lodged up their own asses.

They don't realize how few Sami people there actually are in Scandinavia I gather? Also if we are gonna be really specific about it, it isn't like they are the only indigenous people in Scandinavia.

I haven't actually seen frozen tho, so I can't comment on the film in particular, but it is my history and country they are complaining about, and if they are gonna do that, do it right!

Sami have actually said that they don't consider themselves 'white' or 'POC' because that's not a thing in their countries but no one listens because yay American centrism.

It's the facial structure of many people in that part of the world. Look at pictures of Mads Mikkelson. SJWs wouldn't say he's POC. Also a good point is that race is a human-made concept and differs from region to region. However, many SJWs seem to be using the U.S. definitions for who is white or "ethnic" and who isn't and are ignorant of those from other parts of the world. A Sami person would probably be seen as white in the U.S. However, SJWs can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that someone who is light-skinned can be discriminated against, so they have announced that Sami are "POC."
