For me it was Dobby. Aside from Sirius Dobby's death was the only one were I actually cried when I read it.

Yeah, Dobby's was sad, if not as surprising as Sirius's. When Harry told Dobby to never try to save his life again in CoS, I was like "Yeah, Dobby's going to die saving Harry's life again." Of course Sirius's shouldn't have been so surprising... if I'd been more familiar with the fantasy/sci fi genre, I probably wouldn't have been remotely surprised.

I totally cried when Dobby died. When people say they are glad Dobby died, I'm like, "No. Get away from me."

Dobby's death in the books made me extremely sad, but honestly they made him SO ANNOYING in the movies that I was almost relieved when he died...

Someone pointed out to me that film!Dobby looks like Putin, and I can't unsee it. (Which contributes to me more or less agreeing with you).

I thought he was very annoying in the books also, so I was rather relieved when he died.
