Dude I would totally go raid the English coast again if I had the chance!

VIKINGS TO RULE THE WORLD (Or Britania I guess)!!!!

or you know, yeah not exactly proud of all the stuff my ancestors did...

My Viking ancestors were more scientifically and mathematically minded than myself. They knew how to read the stars and use them for navigation, which I do not. If me and mine set out in a longboat towards England, we'd get lost. And probably end up eating each other. It would be the Donner Party....on a longboat!

I am pretty sure my Viking ancestors got lost on the way to the meeting point before going across the sea to raid Britannia, because that is the only reason I can think of to why I don't have sense of direction at all!

But we have things they didn't! GPS and a ferry that crosses from Norway to England that we could commandeer Jack Sparrow style! So I say we should just try it out! As some of my favourite television presenters say "How hard can it be?"...

They can engrave that quote on our gravestones...provided we are not swallowed up by the sea!

I change my original position; let's go raid England! They have good actors and Stonehenge, and what's the point of having a life if you don't risk it on occasion? Hooah Vikings!

That they can! Actually "how hard can it be" is something they can engrave on my gravestone irregardless of me dying at sea trying to raid an island.

YAY! Let's do that! And that reminds me of my favourite Ylvis song* http://youtu.be/mbyzgeee2mg
Off course we have to take a risk here and there, and why not raid England? We are Vikings it is in our blood!!!

*Don't worry it is not The Fox

I'll get my battle ax!

Our plan reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S9iruQus1s

I wonder where my helmet is? And my armor... Why am I so disorganised? This raid will have to be rescheduled I can't find anything right now...

Check the tool shed. It's where I keep all my shields and swords. The axes I keep under the bed!

I wonder if, in 800 or 1000 years, our descendants will be able to find the humor in US slavery too?

[personal profile] iceyred 2014-01-23 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. They'll probably make badly acted and poorly written movies about the Civil War where the characters dress for the wrong century and use lingo from the seventies. Oh, and nobody will bother to fact check that Herbert Hoover was not President during the Civil War.

Y'know, like we do for the Romans, the Vikings, and everybody else under the sun.

That should be a movie.

I demand this movie immediately.

Pssh there's nothing worth pillaging anymore over here, plus you'd just end up neck-deep in chavs.

You have some castles, they should be filled with some cool stuff! And we could rebuild the wall in York to its former glory!

All of the old castles should be rebuilt to their former glory!

Honestly, I'm not even looking for stuff. I just want to find the guy in my icon.

Who is he? (I kind of recognise his face but I can't think of a name to go with it)

Sean Harris. He was Micheletto in The Borgias, and the geology guy in Prometheus. He's also starred in a couple of really good short films and indie flicks.

He has this way of moving that simultaneously frightens me and turns me on. It's a good feeling. I like it.

the geology guy in Prometheus

Aha! That's where I know him from. He had cool hair in that film.

Sean Harris lives and breathes cool. And creepy.

Also speaks with a lovely/cool/hnngh accent *swoon*.

Amen to that, Anon.
