I like it because I fangirl Thor. He is so completely everything that I like in men. So very pretty. But frankly I could care less about Loki fangirls. Who cares what other people find attractive? The woobifying is annoying, but I don't see any reason to be happy about any prospective digs at them even if it was digs which I don't think it is.

Those jokes always make me smile because it's so much rarer to find people who fangirl Thor over Loki. (Also: May and Thor together? UNF.)

Though I DO think the show mentioned Loki having fans, too? (In the episode set immediately after Thor: The Dark World?) Don't quote me on it, but I could swear that Loki was mentioned as having fans at some point... Just, you know, not by SHIELD. Which makes sense.

No, the only way Loki's even really been brought up was in regards to Coulson being shanked by him.

(As an aside this is my mental block in a lot of post-Avengers fic that pairs him with anyone, everyone is usually too damn accepting right away for my tastes.)

Pretty sure it's not some sort of juvenile take-that on the part of the writers. In-universe, it makes more sense for characters to fangirl the big blond hunk with the dreamy arms than the guy who staged an alien invasion of NYC (while looking like he hadn't slept in three weeks).

I like those moments too because Thor is very much swoon-worthy, tbh in-universe it doesn't really make sense to show anyone fangirling Loki because he's actually a villain to them instead of being a made-up fictional character for people to enjoy.

Precisely. He's not remotely relatable to them; he's the psycho evil brother of Thor who went all megalomanic in Germany, brought down a Chitauri invasion and blew up New York. Half the interest people have in Loki is because we have two more movies in which he's a major character.

Sort of unrelated, but I like to think Coulson was about to say "sure he's handsome, but he's no Captain America" before getting cut off in that second panel. Now I'm disappointed that didn't actually happen.

Yeah I honestly have no idea what the deal is with Loki when there are two near-flawless hunks and ridiculously, ludicrously charismatic RDJ on screen.

Or, y'know, it's because Loki is a baddie who actually exists in that universe, and who killed people and tried to rule the world. So fangirling him (especially by those meant to protect the world from people like him) would probably be in pretty bad taste! The creators don't seem like the type to give out subtle "fuck you"s to fans of any character.
