Re: The tiny irritating things
The nail polish thing is the worst! Do you use a base coat and a top coat? Those help a lot. Depending on the brand of polish sometimes I get a weeks worth of wear without TOO many chips. (Zoya and Wet and Wild Megalast are both fantastic in terms of staying power, but of course it depends per person too.)
Re: The tiny irritating things
I'm not a polish queen. I do not understand base coat and top coat. All I do is put the same color on multiple times. Then I cover it with a clear coat.
I generally get a week out of my normal stuff. But this lasted less than a day.
Re: The tiny irritating things
Some brands (and individual colors, even) are just worst than others. :(

Re: The tiny irritating things
Technically it's a hardener, but it works well as a base coat too. The same brand has an 'all in one' polish that you can use as a base and top coat, but I typically use the hardener for the base coat, put two (or three, if it's an extremely weak color) coats of color, then the all in one as a top coat. If you have any problems with your nails (or just want to keep them looking pretty) then hardeners are excellent.
Though, I've tried half a dozen brands of base coat and top coats, and right now this is the one I'm using; I like it quite a bit. OPI is pretty good too though, and I THINK it's a bit cheaper.
(Although, if your polish already stays you might not want to go to the extra effort. And expense. This shit be expensive...)
